Progroup is a coorporation, which centered at Padang
city. It specialize of Radio Broadcast, Entertainment and Event Organizer.
Progroup radio has been establish since 2005 and successfully being a well
qualified radio. Progroup has the vision to be the best and professional in
their field to entertain as well as educate the societies through the creative,
programs qualified, ON AIR and OFF AIR.

At
November 6th 2012 we have visited Progroup Radio station. There are
two programs in the Progroup that is Pronews 90 FM and Warna FM 91.6. We are received
directly by the CEO, Aim Zein, he is the owner of Progroup Radio station.
There were some
activity that we did at that Radio. The first is the explanation from Mr.
Yalmiadi. He is the lecturer of English Department of State Polytechnic of
Padang. In the opening Mr. Yalmiadi explained about the purpose and the objective
of our visiting to the Progroup Radio station. In thaat occation Mr. Yalmiadi
also told that English Department of State Polytechnic of Padang is not only
prepare or produce the students with English skill, but also provide the
students with skill both radio and television broadcasting.
Then,
the next explanation gave by Mr. Sentot as the lecturer of Radio Broadcasting.
Mr. Sentot told, we must find out the work system of broadcast from Pronews FM
and Warna FM. Although, Pronews FM and Warna FM are in one station but they
have a different format.
The
next event was the explanation from Mr. Aim Zein. He told that, progroup is a
radio which is under Private Broadcasters (LPS). Mr Aim also explained there
are so many institutions of the radio. For example, the Public Broadcasters
(LPP) that is RRI and Community Broadcasters (LPK) like PMI Radio.
Mr
Aim also explained each of these broadcasters have a different way of thinking.
Like LPS, LPS or private Broadcasters, have a method or a way of broadcasting
more oriented to commercial. In their programs they are do not restrained or
monotonous. Unlike the LPP or LPK. LPP is for public broadcasters/for the
societies. They have to consider what it is should announce and does not to
announce. Because we must look the societies condition first. It is different
from LPK which has orientation of their work more to the social.
Well,
let us explain what are the difference between Pronews FM and Warna FM. What is
the special quality and the advantages of each of these radio stations.
Although,
they are on the one station, Pronews FM and Warna FM have different format. Are
you curious what is the defenition about Pronews? Well this is Pronews, is
about News. Pronews format is newstainment that aired news and update
information continuously in the form of news, radiotalk & interviews, live
report. The concept of the music at Pronews FM is Hits & Easy Listening. As
news radio, the information and entertainment have quality for Padang city.
Pronews Radio has obtained recognition from the society and the Government as a
decent radio and should be heard. According with the tagline “the smart news
radio”. The scope of the listener for Pronews FM and Warna FM have different as well. For pronews
listeners consists of adult, teenager and the elder.
This
are the rundown show on Pronews: at 6-7 am: local news, at 7-8 am: Talk Show.
The listeners are usually the age of adult, at 8-9 am: All news. The event for
mothers who are at home. To fill their days, because they have left by families
who are busy with their own activities outside, at 9-11 am: Foreign Affairs and
criminal news, at 12-1 pm: Non stop music. Pronews did not convey the news
continuously, pronews will also provide a distraction for listeners by playing
music. This is activity we do in order the listeners do not feel bored and keep
listening to Pronews FM, at 1-3 pm: All news. All information will be packaged
in this time, at 3-5 pm: Soft news. The listeners will get all the information
and tips. For example, health tips, diet, etc.
At
5-6 pm: Religious Event, at 6-7 pm: local news, at 7-8 pm: Pronews today.
Reading all the news in one day and 30 minutes in the last time of the news,
the announcer convey the news use in English, at 9-11 pm: Entertainment, at 11-12
pm: because it's already night and activities is done. It's time the listener
to sleep, so we can commpany the listeners with listen the slow music.
This
are the type of news that is presented in the Pronews: All news, Local news,
Live report, Radio Talk, Soft News (information), Breaking News, Headline News.
The headline news are always update news and ongoing news story.
Warna FM 91.6 radio at
Padang, is a radio with the concept of young adult. Lead by the “young talented
and energetic” aircrew, have makes this radio more famous. This radio for young
adult at Padang. Packaged with the concept of music while hits, new entries,
add the programs that favor for listeners make this radio are not
unquestionable to mention the existence as a young adult Radio at Padang which
many listeners. According with the tagline “good music, good people”.
Then the listeners who
love music, want to listen the new entries, should be and always keep listen to
Warna FM.
This is the
organizational structure in progroup radio.
PD (Program Director)
is to set the schedule for the broadcaster. Anyone who became a broadcaster,
what time the person will be broadcast then it's all an obligation PD for set
it up. MD (Music Director) is the person responsible within the schedule set up
a playlist of music. In Progroup Radio, MD who has organize or create a
playlist of music, that is only for the specific event.
