to Progroup Radio

Radio is a broadcaster media which transfer the
information from voice to electronic wave through radio channel, it deliver the
information through audio. It is a beginning idea in creating a television,
which is a development of radio itself. Radio has some functions; it can be a
learning media, an entertainment media, and a promotion media. In learning
media, radio stations make a program which educates the people (listener), like
an interactive dialogue or news whether it is hard news or soft news. Radio
becomes an entertainment media when the radio entertains their listener through
music program. Radio becomes a promotion as well, because radio is a
broadcaster media it can be listening by everyone. So, the possibility to
promote a product or something can be listening frequently.
In order to face the global challenge, job occupancy
oriented in communication and information right now. So that, English
Department of state polytechnics of Padang makes a broadcasting concentration
which is concentrated in radio and television broadcasting. In introducing the
real fieldwork of radio broadcasting, the fieldtrip did to Progroup Radio on
November 6th 2012. The trip from State Polytechnics of Padang at
09.30 and arrived in progroup at 11.30 AM.
The fieldtrip opened by Yalmiadi, an English Department
lecturer, who told about the background of
broadcasting for additional skill for English Department student to
Progroup’s owner Aim Zain. Yalmiadi said, the choice of broadcasting for
English Department based on wise consideration from survey in some companies.
Then, continued by the background why choose Progroup from Pak Sentot. He said
that he choose Progroup because the owner is his best friend, both radio
location are close (Time Efficiency) and both radio has different program form
each other(News and entertainment) Progroup which is located in Jalan Belanti Raya, Lolong Ulak Karang, Padang is a group where Pronews
and Warna FM belong. Progroup is a group in Padang where specialized for radio
broadcast, entertainment and even organizer. It has been established since
2005, it participated in entertain and educate people through creative ON AIR
and OFF AIR program.
The owner of
Progroup is AIM ZAIN, he is a CEO (Chief Executive Officer) of progrup radio,
not only a CEO but also he is a Head of PMI SUMBAR of Social Matter and he is a
Community Broadcaster Media (LPK) founder. Aim said
that progroup is a private group radio, progroup has two radio stations Pronews
(90 FM) and Warna (91, 6 FM). Pronews program oriented to news which combine
with entertainment (Newstaiment). Pronews FM has a tagline “The Smart News Radio”.
While program of Warna FM oriented to young adult, Warna FM has a tagline “Good
Music Good People”. Aim said, tagline present the radio itself. Aim also told
about RRI program, which is public oriented a little bit. He explained about
the history of Pronews established. He told that pronews established when
earthquake happened in 2005, pronews (Pro Radio News) has two forms radio at
past pro dangdut and pro sport. Then both of them transform into a radio called
warna FM, which is a name from a radio from Singapore (Warna Singapore). Radio
is one of broadcaster media whose three types of radio in general. Those are
private Broadcaster Media (LPS) for commercial, Public Broadcaster Media (LPP)
for government, and Community Broadcaster Media (LPK) for social, Aim said.
Progroup is include to LPS where different than the other private radio,
because progroup especially pronews criticize the government bravely even
though there are some people or group dislike or even complain about it.
Progroup radio gets the income from two kinds of
program, ON AIR program and OFF AIR, ON AIR program like advertisement and talk
show, while OFF AIR program like even organizer, MC, live even, and etc.
progroup radio has added value from the other radio, pro group is technology welcome
so that progroup will change the channel from analog into digital where will be
access on our cellular phone or internet. Pro group also has a life streaming
website, “it’s free to create your own streaming just click www.lifestream.com”,
Aim added.
